I've recently updated my origin server. Could this be causing the CloudFront 403 error on my iPhone?

Yes, changes to your origin server, such as permission modifications or file structure changes, can definitely trigger a 403 error. Verify that the origin server is still serving the content correctly and that CloudFront's OAI still has the necessary permissions to access it. Invalidate the CloudFront cache after making changes to the origin.
