William the Conqueror was the b4stard born-duke of Normandy, as his father had no other son, he decided to legitimate him and make him his heir. At age 7 and after his fathers death, he became the Duke of normany, after this, and surviving many assasination attempts, he visited his counsin Edward the Confessor, the King of England who had no offspring and would die without an heir, who told him he would be the heir to the Throne. On his deathbed, he allegadelly gave the Thron to Harold Godwinson.

With his promise to inherit the throne by his cousin as a claim, he invaded England and won the battle of Hastings, becoming the first Normand king of the British empire defeating the English king Harold Godwingson.
