Even without mastering perspective, you can create depth using overlapping elements. Place larger objects in the foreground, smaller objects further back. Use atmospheric perspective – distant objects should be lighter in value and less detailed, with a slight blue or gray tint to simulate atmospheric haze. Varying line weight can also suggest depth; thicker lines in the foreground, thinner lines in the background.
